On Tuesday night we lost 2-1 in the return leg of the AFC CUP Quarter final away to Al Faisaly in Jordon.Overall the score line in both games is not a true reflection on Kitchee as we have had to compete against injuries to key players, a very hectic fixture schedule and suspensions to key players.
We are dissapointed not to prgoress to the semi final. On reflection the past two seasons in this compeition for Kitchee has seen an improvement from last 16 to last 8. It was history for the club to reach this stage so everyone should be proud of the journey.
It was the 2nd time I have experienced defeat at this stage, the first in 2011 to eventual winners Kuwait SC. Al Faisaly are very experienced in this competition and have previously been crwoned AFC Cup champions twice in the past. We now have to dust ourselves down and resume normal practice in the League game on Sunday against Citizen in Hong Kong.
