On Tuesday evening in Malaysia we created history for Kitchee and Hong Kong football by beating Malaysian Super League Champions 2-0 in AFC Cup round of 16 knock out game to reach the last 8 of the regional competition. Having got to this stage last season it was very important to go further this year. We put in a very professional performance and controlled the majority of the game with our passing game. It was great to play in front of 20,000+ fans and it served as a good reminder for the undoubted passion for the game in South East Asia. Credit must go to all the coaching staff for doing their homework on the opposition as the game plan worked perfectly. We will now wait for the draw for the quarter finals which will be played in September, at this stage teams from the MiddleEast can now be faced so it will be a good test for us who ever we are drawn against.
